Not sure why he should thank you, your link offers how to repair the cable which isn't what he wanted. He's taken it apart and can't get it back together, hence why he needs someone who repairs them. Demanding a thanks for advice is nothing more than arrogant.ballyblack wrote: »0 -

No actually I believe Lisburn is quite a nice area. Sorry, could not resist that one.
I would not totally give up trying to fix it if you are in any way handy at doing electrical bits and pieces about the house like wiring a 13Amp plug.
I have opened up electric hedge clippers and electric drills etc several times and putting them back together can be difficult. The main problem is usually making sure the electrical switch and other electrical bits and pieces fit snuggly into the places they are meant to fit into. It is easy to get them slightly out of place resulting in them sitting too high for the case to close properly. Also the wires need to go back into the a place where they will not be trapped.0 -
Sorry for not replying sooner, Lisburn is a wee bit away from Islandmagee... had you have been closer you could have left it with my husband who could have repaired this for you.... no charge obviously, he's a retired electrical engineer and loves wee jobs like that!0

Many thanks everyone,I decided to have a go so after much futtering and cursing I eventually seem to get everything back in place and it's now working again.Islandmagee wrote: »Sorry for not replying sooner, Lisburn is a wee bit away from Islandmagee... had you have been closer you could have left it with my husband who could have repaired this for you.... no charge obviously, he's a retired electrical engineer and loves wee jobs like that!0
