The price of course is a massive factor but having said that the £7000 that you have been quoted is a very competitive price and I would seriously consider that as your solution.
    .

Hi, and welcome. Yep the price is a massive factor, and if micro's or PO's add 10% to the price, then they have to earn 10% more to pay their rent. They might do that, they might not, but if they only breakeven, then why bother. I doubt, but am willing to be educated, that they will exceed +10%.

Something you missed off the list, is that micro's on a 4kWp system might run into DNO acceptance issues, whereas regular systems, or PO's can be capped at the inverter to meet requirements.

BTW £7k in 2015 ........ just say NO!

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

    Thanks. :)

So far our quotes range from 5.9k-7k, which all seem on the high side. Haven't had any luck finding other options that blend cost-saving and reputable. Will keep investigating, though.

I think we've settled on a solution - £6k installed, 250W panels that have a 30-year warranty, 20-year warranty on the inverter (price factors in a replacement around 10 years).

Possibly could have shopped around a bit more, but the company looks legit and they can get it installed within the next month.
