Is there such thing as a free holiday from Club la Costa?

Hi

Ive just been called by club la costa saying i have won a free holiday. Being a bit of a sceptic i looked them up on the net and found loads of posts from people saying they had the same thing but had to phone a free phone number within half an hour to claim the prize. I don't have to do this. We do have to attend the obligatory 'chat' which im sure will involve a 3 hour big sell for their timeshares and we do have to pay about £50 per person 'administration fee'. BUT is it not just a case of being strong willed, ignoring their hard sell fact and figures and politely saying NO! I know the saying goes 'if it's too good to be true then it probably isn't' but does anyone know if this actually is? I'd hate to miss out on a good deal and my husband definately does have the will power to say NO and as a law graduate has the legal jargon to back himself up!

the problem i found was although they said on the phone i could deffo go in school hols (im a school science tech so no hols in tt) when i phoned the number they give you a bored sounding woman told me he had lied and they couldnt guarantee that, she also told me that although he had also said no presentation i would have to attend one in leeds. she also wasnt concerned he had lied to me and i presume many others. the presentation bit doesnt bother me - sat through them before and not bought nowt.

You really arent that strong willedwhitebutterfly78 because they have already half sold the idea to you and they havent even talked to you in the flesh yet. Otherwise you would know you didnt actually enter a competition in order to "win" anything.
The reason they do this type of marketing is because, IT WORKS.
Random people "win" these holidays and a high enough percentage actually buy a vacation package off them for it to be a viable method of getting custom.
  • have you got the holiday though after sitting through the presentations regardless of buying nothing - sch hols are not a problem for me as no longer teaching! thanks for your help.

I've received a phone call as well saying I've won a holiday from club la costa! Is this genuine or will I have to pay for the free holiday?</p>
  • i did enter the competition to win a holiday at a local show though so i knew this would be happening! i have no need to get a timeshare as have open access to 2 properties in south of france so i really am only interested in getting the free/cheap holiday and i will have no problem in telling them so! Fingers crossed for my freebie!
  • We went on a Club La Costa holiday with my IL's earlier on in the year. While it was very nice, all 5* appartment, etc, we were aware of people being guided round the complex. IL's have a timeshare thing, they got sucked in, dont know many details but even when they were there this time they were taken out for breakfast - CLC on big sell! We are not in a position to buy so were not hassled at all. All the staff were very nice, couldnt do enough for you. If you are hard faced enough to say no to all the questions & talks, etc, you could go, it all depends if you want peace & quiet.
Hope this has helped, a little, if at all!
