This is one of those absolutely hilarious signs that defines 'Terms of parking without permission' & then tries to claim damages. You cannot enter into a contract to do something that is forbidden. Not only that but they will charge £100 for not displaying a valid tax disk which must be a real moneyspinner nowadays.

To cut the answer short, phone them up and threaten court action, they are breaching the equality and descrimination laws. Do not pay. The law states that you have right to stop for an an emergancy and to drop off and escort people.

I had a similar circumstance to your self and had my appeal turned down. Plus the signs were confusing. It would help to also see your mp, in my case after an extensive argument i won.

POPLA don't consider Equality Act-based appeals - and this thread is discussing a POPLA appeal.

There is a way to mount a strong challenge under the Equality Act but it is well before the POPLA stage, so please read the thread/Forum Stickies before posting-up random rubbish that could land people in more trouble.

To be accurate Old POPLA did not consider Equality Act-based appeal however we don't know how New POPLA will handle these. The New POPLA are already upholding appeals where the PPC breaches the CoP of the BPA Ltd which was not the case for Old POPLA>

New POPLA might do. Worth trying.
