Any sites that do not need card details?

Hi all, hope it's ok to post!

Due to having a loan a while back i have a bad credit rating. 3 years ago i tried to get a Debit Card and was declined due to it. So i was given a standard savings account where i can only withdraw money from a ATM.

I was told i could try again in a few years to get a debit card. Went to bank again today and was told to check my credit rating first online because if i am refused a debit card again it will leave a mark on my rating.

Anyway i've just tried to have a free look online, BUT my card does not have a security number as it's not a debit/credit card.

It's a real pain in the !!! having to use my mum's account to pay for things online. I've been paying my debt off monthly through step change and not got any more debt.

So has anyone managed to find a way to check their credit rating without needing a card?

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance!

  • You should be able to get a barclays cash card account (so long as old debts aren't with them). which is a visa and allows you to pay online. OR you could look at prepay cards to allow you to buy stuff online.

    Hi avvie

Yes, you should be able to use a pre-paid card for an online transaction like this. Please be aware that some cards will attract usage fees and/or require you to "load" them with a minimum amount when you first register them.

You don't need a card to register for clearscore, this is your Equifax credit score.
