CD/DVD drive dead - Where to buy a new one?

My Acer Travelmate 2700 Cd/DVD drive has died
I've tried looking on ebay but the price is way too much for a used one.
I've been on the acer website and look on-line at the stores who sell their stuff, but none sell the CD/DVD drive.

Does anyone one have any idea where i can buy one.

It is an unusual shape due to the curves on my laptop.

Would any other drive be able to work with it? or does it have to be the same model which i have now?

Any advice appreciated

If you can live with the inconvenience you can get drives which plug into the USB port

Thanks. I was thinking about a usb one. All I need it for really is for my games that need the CD in to play lol.

The actual drive is probably fairly standard, it's the outer casing that's curvy.....
