They appear to believe you still owe them £800.
Why don't you contact them and pay it (if you accept you owe the money) or challenge it (assuming you do not accept you owe them the money)?
Debts don't just disappear.0 -
I have already contacted them to offer full payment if they remove the default, they declined which i thought they would. So im guessing this account will either stay on my file for 6 years from the delinquent date or 6 years from whenever they decide to stop reporting the account to credit file agency.0

If you can afford to pay it you should pay it, not just on the condition that they do something for you. You took out the debt and you defaulted (although as others have said this isn't actually showing a default, so they must have reported it to another CRA- have you looked at all three versions of your credit files?), they don't owe you anything.0

Just by getting in contact then you wouldn't but by offering to pay are you not admitting liability?0 -

Only if you've aknowledged it in writing.
In any case, the poster above implies that contact of any kind will reset the 6 years, which isn't true.0 -

6 years from the recorded satisfaction date or default date.
Neither of which it seems has been recorded by them on that record, so as it stand it would remain indefinitely.enfield_freddy wrote: »as you have now made contact , the 6 yr clock has been reset , its now 6 yrs from the day you contacted them
As said, not true. Payment acknowledgeable or contact has nothing to do with how long things remain on the credit file for. I think you are confusing that with when the 6 years for something to be statute barred starts and ends, which is something completely different to when things are removed fro credit files.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
