Are you all electric with an economy 7 meter ? these have 3 readings with a digital meter and 2 reads with an analogue mechanical meter. Is the meter a "dial " meter ? ( 6 rotating dials )..these are always getting read incorrectly on the 10,000kwh dial .Get one of these wrong and its exactly 10,000kwhrs out.0

I now have electric central heating and this must be the answer, although we hardly used it in the past year.
I will do the kettle test to be sure, but I think now that it's just a very expensive option I was not totally prepared for, given your previous help with this.
We did have solid fuel central heating, so if I add that cost in, it is just a bit more expensive.
