Letter or template regarding a default?

Hi guys I'm in need of a letter or letter template , my letter writing is terrible and I don't want to put anything down which isn't going to help my case !,
I'm enquiring to sainsburys regarding a default I disagree with I contacted there customer service team and they said they are unable to locate my account or any records of it, so have advised I need to write a letter to lloyds banking group customer services this is the bit I need help advice on , the only details I have of the loan are the loan reference number the date it was taken out and the date they defaulted me and I'm sure if I got my bank statements out I could prove that the loan was being paid on the dates they have defaulted me on any help greatly received !     Assuming that Lloyds were the underwriters of the loan they should hold details of the account. I am a little unclear what you are trying to check but hope this letter may help you as a starting point: -

    In case this is the wrong letter perhaps you can clarify (for future posters)- is this loan still outstanding? Are you saying that they have defaulted the account when you made every single payment on time and in full (no reduced payments)?

    It would appear the sainsburys debt is now fully settled.

    The dispute appears to centre around a late payment resulting in a default having been filed 1.5 years ago.
    Based on the what is written above, I would think the best course of action is for the OP to first obtain the evidence to support their belief that they actually paid all installments on time, ... and then if appropriate, use that to challenge the default recorded.

    Edit: Makes you wonder though. A defaulted late payment usually results in a default fee being applied, which the OP has presumably paid if they have already settled the debt in full.

    Thanks very much for replies yer the loan is fully paid what happened is I missed 2 payments on the loan as I lost my job so I contacted sainsburys and they agreed to freeze the loan for a month and at that time we agreed to set up smaller monthly payments in till my financial situation became better anyway after a month or two at slightly reduced monthly payments I upped the monthly payments to more than I was paying in the first place and settled the loan in full and earlier aswell

    With only a couple of missed payments I would expect a mark of 'late payments' but it seems a default was applied a little bit eagerly. You are essentially complaining to the creditor about the default and asking them to remove it. If they refuse and you are still unhappy about that then you should escalate the matter to the Information Commissioner.
