Vaux Insignia Radio control dead
Hi Guys,
As the heading states. I have a Vauxhall insignia, just recently it has developed a problem with the centre radio control buttons. The radio works fine using the controls on the steering wheel however if you try using the buttons / volume control on the centre panel nothing works. I was out in the car late last night and where as everything was lit up the centre control weren't
I note from looking in the owners manual there is fuse for the Infotainment system, could it be that (not convinced its a fuse as the stereo works from the steering wheel) or is it as I expect a dead unit.(theres a few on the likes of ebay, whih suggest it could be a common problem)

just a further update, since posting this morning, i checked fuses under the bonnet and the fuse box in the glove box and all seem fine and intact. I will not assume is it just a problem with the central control unit unless anyone can offer any other suggestions.0

What year is your car?
What model is the radio/infotainment system? (DVD800/RF900/Intellilink)Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -
It's an 09 plate, the stereo system is CD3000

As a sparky I would suspect a cable or connection between the head unit and the centre console has come apart, maybe a plug/socket worked loose.
As the radio works from the steering wheel controls and neither the lamps or the buttons appear to be working, the fault seems to be between the console and the radio unit.
I've just bought a "siggy" and joined insignia enthusiast.org, they seem a helpful bunch. A guy on there has replaced the standard display with a sat-nav one, not that you want to do that but there are some good pics on how to remove the switch unit to check for a loose connection, the switch unit is screwed in, so dont try to pull it off.0 -
