I don't own a tablet and been looking at getting one. Mostly for watching video/netflix as well as web browsing and reading kindle books.
I've narrowed it down to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 inch or the S2 9.7 inch.
The older S appeals to me due to lower price and aspect ratio better for video. Also the specs dont seem much different and the S2 doesnt seem like a massive leap forward for the extra money.
Any advice? Could support for a one year old model be withdrawn earlier? Has anyone used either of the two models?

Get the original S. It's a great tablet, especially for viewing video - fantastic quality screen, and good battery life when viewing video. It's plenty fast enough for other apps and games too, hasn't stuttered with anything I've thrown at it.
The S 2 as an iPad-esque screen ratio which is horrible for video - cuts off the sides of the video or leaves you with black bars at the top and bottom.
You don't need to worry about support being dropped for the original S - it's had a software update as recently as the last couple of months, and on XDA there is a thriving community of third party ROMs which can be used if and when the official updates stop.poppy100 -
Thanks for your opinion.
Decided to go with the original S though looks like buying may be more difficult. Both Currys and Argos were cheapest yesterday at £299 but both have put price up online overnight to £399.
Just been in local Currys who are advertising £299 in store but theres no stock locally. Need to keep looking.0 -
Today only Samsung have a Blue Box sale with discounts on the Galaxy tab s.
Just checked and they are selling the 10.5 in for £299.

Hope this helps.0 -
Both are good options but I would suggest Spidotech Sleek W1 if you are looking for a tablet to watch videos and read books. The screen size is good and resolution is apt for a perfect viewing experience. Plus, it also supports high-speed web browsing.0

Are you by any chance promoting Spidotech ?0 -
