can you set an auto reply, or filter into a separate folder?
Report as many as you can. may get flags raised at gmail / googlebreathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0 -
Virgin have dumped gmail for their own version, it looks like outlook in style. I have had no spam at all since the change over, used to get a few on the old gmail system they used.0

If you get spam in gmail you don't even have to look at it unless you fear a genuine email has got trapped. It even empties itself after 30 days.
Overall gmail seems quite good at keeping the spam under control. I get almost none but have another account which is diverted to gmail and this comes with a number of spam emails.0 -
their own virgin media forum is full of the same messages, I have the same but luyckily only 10 or so per hour. I have created a filter, shown here which seems to be working

I had a lovely chap y'day remotely take control of my computer and try to set up the spam reject system, not only does it not work they do not get put in the bin, just keep reappearing. was told it would be fixed by today and it is not. So trying to find my emails through loads of spam is not on.
I was told how unusual it was, when clearly hundreds of people have been effected. the spam filter is useless.0 -
I have two ntlworld accounts. One is getting about 50 - 80 of these per day, and the other seems to be getting about 10 per hour. Been racking my brains trying to figure out who I had signed up to this week, but the signups were done with a gmail account, so unconnected to this spam invasion.0

yes. spam has increased 10 fold since they switched! marking as spam appears to do nothing0

I had the opposite problem when e-mail system changed. All the usual spam dumped in the Virgin spam folder was no longer there - there was no spam anywhere. I've found in the past that genuine messages were being treated as spam, so like to check the spam folder regularly.
Solution was to go into settings (black band, top right, wheel - select 'settings' - select 'spam settings' and choose how to deal with spam.
Look at your setting in case it is set for no spam filtering.
I'm still getting nothing like the usual quantity of spam in spam folder. Today there were only 2 messages, one of which was not spam and I had to mark as 'not spam'.0 -

Yes, my spam folder is totally empty, I used to get maybe one or two a week.0 -
Glad I am not the only one then. Even after deleting them, they re appear again, further down the list of emails. marking as spam doesnt work either.
