ParkingEye - Late to the game

Just to let you all know that I complained to the landowner on this. I assured them that I definitely would have had a ticket that day and had done nothing wrong. They have contacted ParkingEye who have since sent me a letter confirming that they will not be taking any further action.

I did this in person, which is not an enjoyable thing to do, but it is worth it. It is much easier to write aggressive emails / letters (which I know is sometimes the only option), but in person may be more effective if you have that opportunity.

It is important to note the in-theory late-stage that I took action which I hope will give others hope / motivation. The 'contact landowner' strategy was stressed on the newbies thread. Thanks all for contributions and help.

    Good result Ted.

Complaining is a very potent strategy, albeit not a 'natural' in the British psyche. Face to face, with the right person (manager level), is always best. Successful outcome from this will permanently kill off the PCN - although some PPCs play silly b's and drag their heels, but a court wouldn't have much truck with that once the principal has cancelled!

Glad you've received written confirmation from PE - important to get this. Now make sure you keep that written cancellation safe (as an 'insurance') for the next six years.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You are correct that unnecessarily-aggressive correspondence can be counter-productive when you are asking for someone's help, but on the other hand these things often need to be done in writing. It's far from infrequent that a landowner promises to get ParkingEye to cancel and then ParkingEye presses on regardless, all the way to a court case. If you have it in writing from the landowner you can then easily demonstrate that PE does not have the landowner's authority to pursue the charge.

Anyway, well done on your successful landowner complaint, it's far-and-away the best way of getting these things killed off.
