New York Hotel charges

Off to NY for 1 week - booked & paid for flight + hotel through Lastminute.com so the invoice shows the total for the trip. I realise that we have to pay taxes + occupancy, etc., but how is that going to be worked out as the difference in taxes would be almost £100 - I don't want to find I'm charged the tax on the flight section of the deal. Anyone any views on this, please?

surely the 'total' should mean exactly that..?breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0

Are you talking about the hotel? When I stayed in New York last month (paid up front on package deal) we were charged $24 a night "facility fee", and when we queried it we were told "this covers Wi-Fi usage, domestic and international calls, use of the business center (internet, printing etc.) and use of the fitness center". We had to pay, there was no option to refuse.0

On the other hand I went & had paid as part of a package (Expedia) with zero extra fees/taxes to pay on arrival. The state tax had been applied at the time I paid & this was neither queried nor raised at the hotel either, I think it depends on the hotel to be perfectly honest.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

Can't understand as the invoice only gives the total price - says nothing about taxes and charges. I know that the normal rate is 14.75% +$3.5 per room per day.0

Update: just rang Lastminute.com who called the hotel and they confirmed that All the taxes and charges ARE included in the total price! Result - just saved another £200odd.0
