Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour.

Trying to buy - everything seems against us
The house is a timber framed house, not too unsual up here in Aberdeen, first of all Nationwide wouldn;t even look at the house as it was timber framed, then we found a lender who would RBS, and now they're saying they don't think they will look at it either, several years ago the house was harled to protect it and now the harling seems to be the problem as they are saying they don;t know the condition of the wood underneath, ironic considering we got the harling to raise the valueof the house, they're now requesting an engineers report of the property, and my brother now has to do a full sellers report rather than us just getting a cheaper report from the surveyors and tbh I'm on the verge of giving up on the whole thing, we have been trying to get somewhere for 6 months and every time it just seems that they are putting barriers up, and taking weeks to inform us every time.
Anyome have any ideas on the best way to proceed ?
