Missed/late payments and just above min payment loan search

I've been paying just over my minimum payment in to my credit cards in the hope of getting a consolidation loan. Everything was going OK until Virgin Money changed their details and I managed to miss/make late payments 2 months running due to having inputted wrong details twice - I made the payments but they were returned but only realised when the next month statement arrived. Should I hold off applying for a loan for a bit or are there any lenders who would be best to try? I don't want to pay exorbitant interest

Consolidation loans are never a good idea.
When you say Virgin changed their details, did you not have a DD set up? So you were making manual payments? First of all you should obtain copies of all 3 of your credit reports to see what the damage is. Secondly, if Virgin have recorded it as 2 months late payments, you need to contact them and ask them as a gesture of goodwill if they would possibly remove 1 month marker (or both if you’re feeling lucky) due to the admin error.
Some questions first;
Any other missed payments / defaults / CCJs?
How much do owe on credit cards / overdraft / any existing loans etc?
What is the total of your credit limits?
What is your annual salary?
Are you on the electoral roll?
What amount are you looking for re the loan and over how many years?I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. It seems very unlikely that Virgin Media would have changed details for manual payments without informing their customers."Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."0

I think it was Virgin Money,not Media. They would have notified customers but it's easy to miss an email/letter.0

The OP states that they were informed of the new details but made a mistake when using these new details to set up payments."Facism arrives as your friend.
