The couple who have bought our house...
Hold your horses! Nobody's bought your house yet. Somebody has made an offer and you've agreed a price, but even that is subject to the outcome of the survey or the buyers just changing their minds. Nobody is committed to anything until contracts are exchanged.
...their application got submitted last Wednesday and we haven't been contacted for their valuation yet?
It's early days yet. These things take time.
Who do I put pressure on? Estate agents who dealt with our sale or?....
You could contact your estate agent to and ask them to chase the buyers for progress, but I suspect they will also advise that you need to be a bit more patient.
  • I agree with casper although it's very hard I know to try and be patient as it feels like a lifetime waiting. I was in a similar position to you - was told our buyers mortgage application was being sorted on 27 August and that we should hear about the valuation very soon. As of yesterday we still hadn't heard about the valuation. For other reasons that came to light yesterday our sale is now on hold due to a setback with our buyers sale.

Anyway, I would advise waiting until next week before you contact your EA to see if they can get an update. I was torn between chasing and not wanting to scare our buyer off. I've realised from this forum that it does take time unfortunately and people and companies go at different speeds.

    Good luck.

  • Very good point Simon, but your 3rd point in the 4th paragraph is a little unclear: Could you kindly elaborate??

That your id starts with $ sign says something!
