British Gas boiler service any good?

In my own experience of BG I have found that when booking a service under the service contract its always carried out on time, and always get a call approx. 20 minutes in advance to say that they are on the way.
As for the service I have found that if anything is found amiss or requires investigation then the service engineer is usually hard pressed for time that they try and arrange a separate visit (unless its safety issue). This then means another morning or afternoon waiting in and to be honest the second BG person usually resolves the problem in a few minutes.
Also find that they try and upsell new boilers, replacement carbon monoxide detectors or a power flush and it does make you wonder if they are on commission.
That said, if a free service is offered i'd probably take itThoughts:

I'm afraid that doesn't work. By law they have the right to call the police and break your door down. I know because it happened to a neighbour of mine. (Danger to the Public and all that ... )0 -
Rubbish company.
You'll be lucky if they keep their appointment.
When they come chances are they will find something wrong.
Of course this is just my experience and you may get a good one.0
