Help with 1- and 2-way light switches

Hi everyone,
I am currently buying some light switches to be fitted as part of the rewire of my house.
I note that some of the designs I like are only available as a 2-way switch (I understand the difference between 1- and 2-way switches).
My question is: Can I use a 2-way switch on a 1-way light circuit? Or will it not work because there is not a second light switch?
Many thanks for any prompt responses!

Yes. Some 1 way switches are identical to their 2 way counterparts apart from they lack the brass contact for the 2nd way (but still have a hole for it and still have it marked on the plastic)
1 way switch works as a 1 way switch
2 way switch works as a 2 way or a 1 way switch
Intermediate switch works as a Intermediate, 2 way or 1 way switch0 -
Brilliant, thank you for such a clear answer.0
