Hi, Basic question - Have taken a selfie, how do I download picture to my PC? I have emailed it to myself with attachment but there must be a way of reading the htc memory cards using the PC and extracting the picture?

Yes, plug it in to the PC using a USB cable

Thank you Flightsback, The PC is now reading the phone memory but not the SD memory card where my photos are stored!! How do I get the PC to read the phone memory and SD memory?
When connected to the PC I get a message 'connected as a camra' on the phone.

As well as the good advice above, if your PC has an SD card reader then you could take the SD card out of the phone, fit it into an SD card adapter (if it's a micro SD card in the phone) and then plug it into the card reader.0

Agreed, Ideally it is better, faster transfer especially if you have a large amount of data to move as MTP is slow but it is a pain as you have to pop the back and remove the battery to get to the card.
There is always the way over wifi using a shared windows folder and es explorer as well:

OK thanks, I had the USB connection configured as PTP, changed to MTP, I can now see both memory - phone and SD.

I do a similar thing using AirDroid as it is a little more drag-n-drop friendly - you can do it all from the PC. (My phone's USB connection no longer works for data transfer, just charging).0
