Camera suggestions

Options
Hi, I've got a Canon Ixus 7 from about 10 yrs ago. It's an adequate camera but has its limitations.

I'm going on a trip to Asia and am looking for something a bit more flexible with a better zoom and ideally is rechargeable from a usb connection.

What cameras might you recommend? Perhaps ones which were top models 2-3 years ago?

  • Depending on your budget I guess!
Normally I would advice you to get an entry-level DSLR camera! the photo quality is fantastic even on low light! like the Nikon D3300!, but if you want a compact camera then go for Nikon 1 J4 would also be a great choice :)
  • Yea, definitely low budget and so a compact which is easy to travel with - cheers.

The latest Panasonic TZ... you can afford. They are easy to use (or complicated if you prefer that) & have good zoom.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I'd go with a Panasonic TZ, too. I use Nikon DSLRs but when I need to travel light my TZ60 is very acceptable as a substitute. They are very suitable for the sort of trip you are undertaking.

+1 for a Panasonic TZ from me too.
Great zoom and the autofocus is really quick so it takes photos with very little delay.

    Small enough to take everywhere.

I sold my dslr as I wasn't taking it anywhere due to it being too bulky. Yes, it took great photos but I am just a casual photographer so i decided i'd rather have something that I would take with me that was better than my phone.
