Mortgage just for me & not my hubbie?!?

Hi All,
I am looking for a remortgage but will be a tricky case & one broker has said no chance but am after your advice...

I am wanting to remortgage to release 10k equity.
Current Morgage 117k owed & house value 170k.

Issues the broker mentioned:

I have a 3 year old default for £22k which was settled in full within 3 months of it being registered.

I want the Morgage in my name only as my hubbie has is own property/mortgage,has just changed jobs & gone self employed.

Is it worth contacting another broker for advice or waiting another 3 years when my default will fall off my credit file?

Many thanks :)

You can raise the £10,000 in all likelihood if you can afford it.

Do you mean save the £10K?

I am also wanting to reduce my monthly payments as I'm paying £738 a month for a £117k mortgage through Redstone.

I mean you should be able to raise the extra lending.

Don't expect to make a saving as well, you still have a poor credit file.

Would you recommend contacting another Broker then?

Original broker said I would have to go with a high street lender with me not wanting my hubbie on the mortgage & thus they won't touch me due to the size of my default.

Don't want to approach another broker if I'm wasting their & my time
