You could ask your employer about the possibility of an advance on your wages. I know you said they don't offer relocation expenses as such, but they may be open to a salary advance ?0

No, it's not cheeky to ask. It's a perfectly reasonable request, and indeed it's not an uncommon situation with people who are starting their "first" job, so to speak ( as opposed to someone who is moving straight from one job to another ). Many large companies will have specific policies in place to deal with just this scenario - either within the HR or Payroll departments.
Ask them - all then can do is say no, and it won't in any way reflect badly on you for asking.0
