Keep losing internet connection

as above, my laptop keeps stopping when i'm on the internet, sometimes when loading a new page, sometime half way through typing an email. The internet 'bars' in bottom right hand corner still shows connected though, and full strength (I know sometimes shows a yellow spot on the bars if theres a problem)
Any ideas please?

Do you have the same issues if you connect the laptop to the router with a cable and have the wifi turned off? If so then the wifi can be ruled out. If not then you have a wifi issue.0
