Bath, or no bath?

  • Candles, incense, music... life without a bath seems unthinkable to me - and they are useful for soaking and washing large items.

  • I too, had/have the same dilemma, moved into a 3 bed house by myself. Do I need a bath ?? (in the house that is).:D

Couldn't make up my mind, so left it., just because it was a Jacuzzi bath:D. Been here 3 1/2 years now and only ever filled the bath once, just to see if Jacuzzi worked - never actually had a bath. Always use the shower above the bath, but if selling, bath would probably help the sale.

So, if starting from scratch, then you could consider a jacuzzi bath ?? with power shower above.

  • Hadn't considered a Jacuzzi bath tbh. In my mind they are larger than standard baths, is this right? Out bathroom only has what looks like a standard size bath, and wouldn't fit any larger. Power shower is a must though! I'm thinking the rainshower ones :T

I mean, I was thinking to do the refurb on a smaller budget (in order that we will be able to do it sooner rather than later) sort of £1k not including decor. But a Jacuzzi bath might sway me haha
  • DH talked me into having a large shower and getting rid of the bath around 6 months ago. Took him 2 years to persuade me. 6 months later.... I want a bath :(

I wish I had stuck to my guns but never mind. Reasons for wanting a bath.... Relaxation, recuperation (I have rubbish health at times and baths make me feel better) and I can't shave my legs in the shower :rotfl: Well I can.... but its much harder work! :rotfl:

Give it a year, and i'll probably have my bath back!

On the plus side, my gas bill has reduced ALOT! We had a HUGE corner bath that I insisted on filling up  Also my kids are in and out the bathroom much quicker now, which is handy as we don't have the luxury of a second bathroom.

I would go for a bath, as you can't relax in a shower.

Also, a bath is easier if you have a dog (I use a special triggered dog shower, via the basin tap), as I imagine washing one, with a conventional shower means you get a shower, too.

All this talk about doing big laundry in the bath or washing the dog in it - I have a bath in the garage for that sort of thing. Doesn't everyone have en suite facilities in their garage?
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

You can't read a book in the shower - that's all you need to know.

Or drink a glass of wine

just got to think outside the box!

OP if I wasn't planning on moving I would go with shower only.

I put in a lovely double ended bath, we've used once to check it worked, 2 years ago.

While the separate shower gets used everyday, its big enough for 2 ;) (for the water savings, honest!) and suits our lifestyle.

While planning for every eventuality might seem like a good idea, if you needed to you could change it for not a huge amount of cash if push came to shove, but think of the everyday benefits to you now.
