Lloyd's historic loan PPI claim - any point?

Options
Hi, I think I might have asked this a while back, so apologies if you're having deja vu!
I took out a personal loan for a car in the early 90s with Lloyd's for approx £3k. I had my current account with them at the time. I now have no details of either, but I vividly remember the Branch Manager forcing me to take out PPI else he'd disallow my application. I was an established Civil Servant at that time and knew that PPI was unnecessary due to good sickness pay.
I'm thinking of asking for a DSAR. Is there any point given that it's so long ago and I cannot be more specific?

High street banks tend to hold good records on loans. Not so much the paperwork but enough to know whether they loan had PPI or not. So, timescale is not an isssue.

You dont need to do a DSAR if you know you had PPI. A DSAR is only useful if you dont know you had it and are fishing.

  • I definitely had Ppi on a lloyds loan and didn't need it but like debjones was made to have it by bank. I don't have any paperwork from back in the 90's so went in my local branch and they said they had no record of it at all. Not sure where to go now!

Lloyds do have records going back that far. Even if its just the account number and account code (the account code would indicate if PPI was on it or not). It is possible that the amount detail is missing but then the 90s would have seen RAMAC cards still in use. In cases, like this, a DSAR would confirm it.
