Hi All,
I've got a 4 letter .com to sell. It's pretty meaningless but I'm getting some e-mails from Chinese people who want it so I guess it might be worth something.
Has anyone sold a domain name at auction?
Any recommendations?
I've looked at a lot of Google results but there's no way of telling which is a good website to sell on, how much traffic they get, how many buyers.
There's also lots of options, you can have your own auction, which is very expensive, or put it as a lot in one of their regular auctions.
Looking for personal experiences/recommendations
Thanks

GoDaddy auctions is pretty popular. It's similar to ebay in how it operates:

People bid quite regularly, so you will be able to ensure the domain will sell. Alternatively, turn the domain into a splash page selling itself, but these take a long time to sell.
Feel free to PM me the domain, and I can give you an estimated value.Total Debt Left: £14,843 / £23,954

I Agree with London Ash,
Use a known domain registrar like GoDaddy to auction of or sell your domain.
As soon as you transfer the domain you loose control, so it's easy to get conned if the site does not have proper procedures in place.Laters

Ignore Chinese emails. They are scam/fraud.
Yeah GoDaddy auction is good choice.0 -

Was thinking of listing it on a website and then e-mail all the people who have contacted me offering them to bid on itChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -

I don't see any problem posting it in open forum ,
Your obviously not just here to promote it0
