Closing joint account

My daughter mutually parted with her boyfriend whilst selling their house.
After the sale the money will be put into the joint account.
If a joint account is closed would the bank be willing to give each person a cheque for certain amounts please?
Any other suggestions please?

Can it not be paid into the joint account and split between them?
Surely this is the easiest way to do it.💙💛 💔0 -
Thanks.
I think I had the closing of the account as the problem.
Will suggest that.0 -

Although one of them could empty the bank account before the other has a chance to get their share.0 -
Presumably there will be a solicitor or similar handling the conveyancing, if they're made aware of the circumstances can they not make two separate transfers of half of the proceeds to sole accounts held by each party instead of paying into a joint account? My daughter mutually parted with her boyfriend whilst selling their house.

However if it is mutual/amicable, as suggested, then the risk is much smaller than if it was messy. I've assumed they're talking for the purpose of what I said, as if they're not, it's not going to be that easy.💙💛 💔0
