Hello, this website has encouraged me (and god knows how many others) to attempt PPI reclaims. Things I've learned from reading 100s of posts - never give up, believe and help others (and don't upset Dunston!)
I've set in motion many reclaims - it's ironic - we've struggled for so many years after being hammered with charges (RBS) and unhelpful bank managers that it's nice to be doing the chasing, even if we get nowhere.
One of my historic claims was against First Direct - we've had several house moves and I haven't a clue what we had them. I have been pretty pathetic with finances over the years and I often went along with anything if I thought it would get the loan approved. That said, banks have made plenty of money from us so I'm not ashamed to try and recover some of our hard earned.
To the point - First Direct replied to a letter I sent and said I had no packaged account or credit card - but that they are investigating three old loans. Does this mean anything or pretty standard? It would have been just as easy to say we had no PPI on the loans as well but don't want to get hopes up if others have had the same reply and still didn't get any redress.

What exactly have you asked them to do?0

Check if I had PPI on any of my loans etc. I sent in the FOS questionnaire as well - probably doing everything backwards!0

It all sounds pretty vague, so I would simply wait for them to come back to you.
It would have been better to make a specific complaint about a specific product, if you have one.0 -
That's fair enough - I'll see if they indicate there is anything to progress with and assume not in the meantime0

They paid me £565.00 today for three mis-sold and old loans so was well worth pursuing0
-
That should've been £5650.000
