WOOLWICH - HELP, old savings account found???

After having a sort out of old paperwork at home, I came accross an old Woolwich savings account book that I had completely forgotten about. The last entry is from the 9th Oct 2001 - where there was a balance of £16.06.

Now the problem - I cant find a Woolwich to ask anyone about this old account. I've contacted Barclays but they cant trace anything.

I haven't recieved anything from the Woolwich in years, or Barclays recently as I believe they have taken over the Woolwich.

In addition (a friend has advised me) that I should have been issued shares years ago - but I dont know when this happened, or the terms etc....????

Can anyone help???? OK £16 isn't much, but it's the principal.
