Default me, its being marked as ok, and the other defaults are 3 years in so im half way to clear record

Right, so not yet been defaulted, I suppose if that's important to you, then fair enough.

They are holding you over a barrel in that respect then.

It is at this stage when its so close to finish line, If id of realised earlier I certainly would have stopped, but yes they have me over a barrel but for so little (compared to my overall debt) no point in another 3 years with a default marker

Ive no idea why it hasn't been defaulted, interest has been stopped and its been sold to them from MBNA, and its clearly marked as green OK, each month, but im not going to ask

Thanks for the help, I will work out how much I can stretch and start at 10% and see where I get.

If let's say I can only get 2k and that would only give me 20% for each debt and it was refused by all creditors (which I'm expecting), would it be worth focusing on one of the debt to at least get one paid. Would this cause in issues when continuing my DMP?

    Many thanks again!

Not at all, if you can settle just one account, that's fine, you just tell SC that account has been settled, and remove it from your DMP, I doubt they will question you too much, if they do, just say a family member settled it for you, end of !!!

  • I thought it was set in stone that you couldn't favour one more than the other. I did speak with StepChange earlier but didn't get much detail in the replies to my questions so thought it best to ask here.
  • They tell you that but if the other creditors refuse the money as settlement they can't really complain if one of the others do.

The ones that didn't agree will then get a higher monthly payment so will be happy enough
