Hello friends,
if we are planning to buy house near area where big warehouses are coming up, n started building constructions,do you think that will create problem in day to day life?
Big trucks, lorries going through roads all the time, continuous noise, and not to forget traffic vows it will create during peak hours in morning n evening.
for example, kirby road Glenfield, leicester, where new housing development surrounded by up coming warehouses.
Kindly advice.

I live on a commercial road with business units and factories and warehouses. While I notice 1-2 lorries per day that might be noisier than usual, in the main it's actually a quiet road. There's a short morning/evening rush (10 minutes max) as workers come/go, during the day the traffic is a LOT lighter than many other local/residential roads - and in the evenings/weekends it's positively silent.0

I had a friend living next to a couple of mid-size warehouses, behind a tall wall. The traffic patterns didn't conflict at all and anything noisy apart from a few lorries a day was done inside, so they were great neighbours.
But I should imagine it's very specific to the facility.0 -
Best thing to do would be to go down early (say 5am/first light) one weekday and hang around as long as you can to get a decent idea of what a typical day is like. This may seem to be a lot of bother but do you want to buy a house where the level of noise from the warehouse is unacceptable to you?0

You could also knock on a few doors in the area and just ask.0

Some industrial units cause problems by having insufficient parking, meaning employees use nearby streets.0

It will depend on the company in there.
I work in a large warehouse myself which is staffed from 6am Monday to 6pm Friday 24 hours a day and with some weekend day time work as well.
Lorries only come in between about 7am and 5.30pm with our peak lorry flow being between 2pm and 5pm.0 -
Thank you very much0
