Hello angelcake
The experts in the 'Old Style' board will help you, so I'll move your thread across.;)
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Hiya
Yes - the bero site is great for simple bullet proof recipes...
http://www.be-ro.co.uk/f_insp.htm
and if you check the "Cooking" section of our MEGA Index - there are simple instructions on how much baking powder to use for a cake, or anything else you want to bake when you only have plain flour.
In fact - there are likely to be instructions on your baking powder pack.

I have just also noticed that my eggs go off tomorrow! it is tomorrow that I need cake/cakes for!! Does this matter? I am very cautious about dates on foods but once the eggs are cooked (say in a cake) does the date last longer? Sorry if that is a stupid question but now am stuck!!

Hi angelcake,
My guess is that the eggs will be fine to use in a cake. Have a look here to see if they are safe to use: Fresh Egg Test
