Hello :D

I have started to get into sewing and I am looking for good online suppliers of materials and other sewing essentials. I know you will recommend suppliers that provide good quality at reasonable prices :D

  • Well of course there is Hobbycraft, but they tend to be a little expensive.

I dont know your location but local haberdashery shops would be a good bet as they tend to have lower prices.

Have you tried googling for online haberdashers?

    Hi,
I have used a few onine places, some great some not so great i cant think of who i have all used but a quick google will provide loads of ideas.

I tend to use amazon for most things but i haven't used it for fabric yet.
used it for interfacings, linings and waddings and the like as well as sewing supplies such as needles, threads and tools etc.
    Good luck

Reasonable prices and sensible P&P costs. I've only ordered from them once, last week, and the fabric arrived promptly. It's good quality.

We have some really great small stores on my local market. Especially for the little bits.
Dead cheap and a wealth of knowledge.
Can often drop on for some cheap fabric too - but that can be hit and miss.
    Where are you based?
I'm in south Yorks. But know that there are for example some awesome fabric shops in Dewsbury (west Yorks) . If you mention a county maybe locals will chime in with local face to face knowledge?

  • I second Doughty's, I only use them for fabric, the staff are wonderful and delivery is prompt (they're nothing to do with me, I'm just a longtime customer)

When life gives you limes, it means time to get tequilla and start the party!
  • Ebay, http://stores.ebay.co.uk/pandoras-upholstery?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

Great for bargain rolls, anything from a metre to 20 plus meters.
