PPI claim with DMP

Options
Hello All,

I have not been on this site for so long:shocked:... I have been on DMP for some time and would like to claim PPI, do I send a form (printed from the internet) to the bank or how do I go about this? Any advice welcome. Many thanks.

If you win ,the redress will go to the DMP, just so you know.

If you have the account numbers and reasons for mis sell then fill in the forms, send them to the companies and see what comes back.
You could contact the companies by telephone, most do this over the phone.

Do not use a claims co or your DMP company, they will charge.
  • That's what I want so a DMP (with Step Change) would be paid off quicker.
So the paperwork should not be sent to the bank/s but the companies? How do I find their address though? Thanks again.

  • I fill in the form and send it tomorrow and just wait for their respond. Could I use the PPI form for claiming the bank charges as well as interest the bank applied to my account? Thanks.

You can't claim back bank charges unless you are in current financial hardship [no mobile phone contracts, cable tv etc] and even then, it may be six months of refunds, or a token amount.

Not entirely true. My OH had two successful PPI claims whilst in a DMP - one was, as you said, paid against the debt owed... but the other was split between payment towards debt (didn't clear balance) and cheque to OH.

It wasn't a life changing amount of money but it did mean she ended her DMP over a year earlier than she was expecting having been paying it for about 7 years.
  • I have about 17 months of a DMP left, but want to clear it quicker with PPI money as I have been paying it for a long time 😣😩. Im hoping to get a full amount back (possible?). I need to buy a car so that is my next 'financial project' 😥😓 after a DMP.
