Council Tax for Single Parent/Student?!?

Hi all

Currently get 25% discount off Council Tax as I am a working lone parent. If I was to study full time but continue work would I get a further discount or does it vary depending the area you reside in?

I am looking at returning to full time education but have a mortgage and am researching whether I could feasibly do this or not!

If you are a full time student then you are exempt from CT as I understans it but you have to inform the local council. If you took someone in who was not a full time student e.g. a lodger then council tax less the 25% single person rate would be payable.

Wouldn't take anyone in lol, there is no room!!

Now this is where it gets complicated. I work nights part-time and get my earnings topped up by tax credits. Would I not be eligible for TC if I become a full-time student as I would still be working the same hours???
