Please help, I have a gas central heating system with combi boiler and my heating has started coming on despite being switched to water heating only. Any ideas?

If you have a remote controller it could be set differently from the main boiler, so you could check that.
A simple over-ride would be to turn the "on" temperature on the thermostat on maximum, although I appreciate that this doesn't actually fix the problem.
Another thought is to turn the power off, reset the controller (ours has a reset button) and switch it back on again.0 -
Good afternoon: Possibly a faulty diverter valve is the culprit.

If you have a cordless thermostat then a neighbour could be operating one on the same channel.0

When is it coming on - as per the timer programme, randomly, when you turn the taps on, or when it gets a bit cold?0
