New fridge/freezer - how long til I can use?

Just fitted and switched on a new fridge/freezer in doors but nothing in the installation manual on how long to leave each compartment until we can use them, any ideas please?

An hour - nothing like it 'used to be' as different gasses are used.

If you have just had this delivered, hopefully you had left it a number of hours before switching it on. This should be mentioned in the installation guide or by a bit of Googling. This is to allow the coolant to get rid of any air bubbles that have occured during transit.

Advice would be to let it run for a day or so - you will know when it has become cold enough & the freezer frozen. Second tip, dont fully stock it with food for a few more days, or until you are happy that it will likely run OK for many years to come.

We have always left a new one for 24 hours to allow thing to settle and cool ready for stocking up.

hi everyone, sorry I should of said, it was delivered last week so been stood upright for 5 or 6 days (Im lazy I know). Its an integrated upright one, so I've had to tilt it to get it up onto the shelf it stands on, but it plugs in behind it, and I cant reach the plug to switch it on once its in place

    A few thoughts.

*Has it got a super-freeze switch/ button? If so use that to get it cool quickly.

*Set the thermostat to required temp, when the compressor switches off it should be down to that temperature

*Water in the ice tray gives a good indication of how cold it is in there.
