Beware Fake Maxx Digital Electronics!!

Through yet another rubbish purchase - so many lately I am losing count - I have become aware of a reputable US brand name being ripped off and a whole range of dodgy electrical goods being sold here with no technical support.
I bought 2 Maxx Digital night vision CCTV cameras from a company who trade on eBay and Amazon with different user names but the same address. I went to their own website as it was slightly cheaper and their reviews seemed good. Spent two hours installing them only to find upon connection that one was full of condensation and not working. Contacted the company and after a row they agreed to send out the replacement without first receiving the faulty one back, thus avoiding one session up the ladder.
In the meantime I was so cross at the let-down I emailed Maxx Digital through their website only to be told that they do not make this kind of camera and did I have the right company. I emailed back and asked whether it was possible that someone was using their brand name and had an email and then a phone call from their CEO, who has been aware of this for around 5 years but does not have the money to pursue it in international courts.
These goods are manufactured in a factory in Singapore with a slightly altered logo but he gets dozens of calls each week looking for technical support that he cannot give. I have alerted the VERO departments of both online sites and will call trading standards when they are open but in the meantime - CAVEAT EMPTOR!
