British Gas Homecare - not renewing and signing up again

Homecare agreement is due for renewal at the end of October. As usual they have hiked the price and it's now way more than their online price for new customers.

This year though I also have Home Emergency cover as it was included free in my house insurance. It's due for renewal on 23rd November.

If I don't renew the Homecare agreement, is there a minimum time before I can sign up as a new customer again?

Have you tried asking them for a reduced offer? It may not work but that is probably the least hassle if it works.

I will do but only got the renewal today.

They used to match the likes of Scottish Power which was always around BG's online price. However the last two or three years they have only offered a discount of around £30 so the price has been creeping up.

This year's renewal is £24 approximately whereas the online price is £17.50. I'm paying around £21 just now.

Strangely enough, when doing a quote, I noticed that BG has my address down as if it's 2 different addresses - eg one says M/D followed by address and the other just has the address. I wonder if I would get away with signing up as if a new customer.
