In November I am going to Sri Lanka one day ahead of the main group as I want to see a bit more of Colombo than during the included city tour.
Does anyone have any recommendations re reliable guides?
Any information gratefully received.

Tripadvisor forum would be the place to ask, many drivers will do tours around the country so might be good for a day or two.
Went to Sri Lanka in 2012 but didn't stay in Colombo, toured round the south and centre and it is a lovely country with nice people.0 -
Unless you've only ever been to Skegness there are MUCH more interesting places to visit especially for an independent traveller.Turning left avoids some of the idiots (only some)0

Many thanks for all contributions.
I have managed to book a Colombo guide via the hotel.
I am now looking for information on the Chilaw area and have started a new thread.0
