Welcome ANCIENTOFDAYS - it's nice to see a new face. You'll fit in nicely as there are quite a few insomniacs on here, as well as a few of us belonging to the bus pass brigade! (In my case both apply!)
Mr TA and DS just set off (with sly instructions to DS to watch out for his dad!) so I hope they both enjoy the afternoon. It'll certainly make a nice change from hospital visits for Mr TA. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Thank you for your kind welcome!I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Good morning all,
A lovely morning here, the sun is shining and I am about to put my tulip bulbs in.
Welcome Ancientofdays, as Lyn says this is a lovely friendly and supportive thread, and I don't think I have ever seen a disagreement on here. I love your name and I often wonder how our usernames come about. Mine is because I love candles lit in the evening, and Lyn's is self explanatory because she loved her Docky.
TA I hope DH enjoys himself at the match, I know you must be worried but I am sure your son will look after him, I imagine he will be rather tired when he comes home, but as you say what a change from hospital appointments.
I think I may have the beginnings of a cold because I have a tickle in my throat which is the usual sign. I have increased my inhalers in the hope that a cough won't develope even if the cold does.
Roast beef and all the trimmings this evening so something to look forward to.
Have a good day all

CANDLELIGHT - My name came about because we used to love to travel and abuela is Spanish for grandma. So I was a travelling grandma! The travelling days are on hold now sadly but we live in hope they may come back again so, for now, the name stays! xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. That's lovely, I always wondered what your name meant.
Our travelling abroad holidays are over. After Himself had his heart attack he was worried about travelling "in case". That was over 7 years ago now and to be honest I understand how he feels. It was very difficult at first because he wouldn't let me out of his sight, (it was me who recognised it was a heart attack) although he had no pain it is what is called a silent HA.
He is much better now but not the most confident of people. By your posts I recognise you do so much for DH, so I know you will understand. I hope DH is enjoying himself

Afternoon all
We were up and out early today, we went to see MIL so FIL could go out with friends, he was worried about leaving her alone.
Hubby is now watching the recorded GP with a burger in a bun
DD is due later on this afternoon & I need to feed DS's cat too.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Good afternoon everyone. Pleased to hear that William cat is getting better Laura x Welcome to you Ancientofdays.
I have been to a Woodland Fair at Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire today with my young grandson. There were lots of stalls there focusing on traditional skills and woodcraft. It was very interesting. My grandson particularly enjoyed looking at the horses and also got to do some nature art on the Wildlife Trust stall. I enjoyed the wild food demonstration where they made pesto with cobnuts, wild garlic bulbs and nettle. I'm back home now and grandson has gone home. I'm gong to try and have a little rest now as all that walking, fresh air and a lively four year old have worn me out.
I am hoping to wake up in the middle of the night to observe the total lunar eclipse which happens in the early hours of Monday morning. I'm hoping the skies stay clear so I get a good view.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Afternoon,
I haven't posted for quite awhile but i read pretty much everyday.
I have going through all the 'Feed your family for £20' threads as we are feeling the pinch this month, not sure where i have gone wrong!
We have £30 to get us through the next couple of weeks (until pay day). This is for food for myself and DD plus pet food- 1 dog and 1 cat.
I have a good stock of food so things shouldn't be too tight at all. Mainly i will need milk and veg/fruit. Luckily the furbabies prefer the cheaper Morrisons food and i have 1 weeks supply already.
1st step will be a good batch cooking session after work tomorrow using the mince in the freezer. I'm sure we'll be absolutely fine but it does put a dark cloud over your head.
Enjoy the remainder of the weekend all xEmergency Savings #73 = £1,500/£2,000

Good afternoon everyone,
Well it has been another beautiful day. Washing on the line, hopefully dry. The only downside is the ironing
Welcome to ancientofdays
TA I do hope DH enjoys his afternoon of rugby and doesn't find it too tiring.
tru the bathroom sounds like it will soon be finished.
Had a nice morning, went for a walk with DH, he has now gone out on appointments, but will be back early evening so that's good.
DS is on a day off today and won't go back until Wednesday, so a nice couple of days for him. He had his bike stolen from outside the pub last week so will have to rely on buses, us or taxis at the moment (a taxi costs £20:eek:). We keep trying to get him to move to Rochester @spoons but he won't, as he could just walk home when he works until finish and it would only take him 30 minutes.
DD's friend stayed over last night, but has now gone home. DD will be going up next weekend as its her friend's 18th birthday party, so nice for her.
I have just spent the afternoon browsing the interweb and entering more competitions. I must start some dinner in a moment, I will make a homity pie with veg, not sure what to do for a pudding but will think of something I'm sure:D
I do hope everyone has a good evening. hugs to all.SPC 11 #4450 -
