How do you fit a log burner through a flat felt roof?

Hi

So I am building a single story extension. The latest thing is the builder says he isn't sure about installing the log burner through a felt flat roof, I have found a few products online that seem to wrap around the flue but just wondered if any one can recommend anything inparticular? And at a reasonable cost. Also as it's inside going out I know I presume I need a twinwall flue??? - these are really expensive!
All help appreciated :)

Id ask an expert, I'm sure you'll have a local company that does this sort of thing regularly, and they'll know what they're doing with respect to the building regs for log burners.
  • Get a local showroom to work it out for you and also install it. You have issues such as combustable materials to work with, a flat roof with a building towering above it, which will affect the flue pull, distance from windows etc as well as the aesthetics of the flue.

It will need to be twin wall and may need to be a lot higher than you may have originally thought.

Have you not looked at balanced flue gas stoves? That will eradicate all the issues ou may have.

This is something that a local fireplace showroom will have experience with, not something that you can get away from buying over the 'net'.
