Thanks. And always do... but what? They can't come in windows can they? I'm half picturing vampires now.0 -
He asked me to open if they sent anything further, and I'm glad of that as I would prefer to be warned of a visit than open the door unknowingly. But thanks for that.
That's why I put it as a question, not a statement. Notice the question mark?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Just a bit of advice for you, in case they do decide to turn up.Friendship is like peeing on yourself. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warm feeling that it brings0 -
Hi,
If they do turn up, you should make sure all doors and windows are locked, do not allow them access under any circumstances.
You are in no way liable for this debt, but as your address is named on the writ, they have a duty to turn up.
The advice above still stands, you should inform them your ex does not live there, and has no interests there either.

As long as you deny them access, they will have no option but to return the writ to the judgement creditor.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. It is important for you to understand what these people are about if they turn up at your house. They get paid only if they get the money (or goods but they prefer the money). They really dont care who pays, so if they can pressure you into paying with vague threats aboout taking property they will. they have been known to lie and decieve. They frequently trick their way into properties. Once there you cannot remove them.
Do not let them in.
If you indvetently open the door to them - shut it immediately (and lock it!!)
My top tip would be to video them on your phone as you tell them (through the letterbox or upstairs window) that he does not live here, has never lived here and has no property here. Videoing tends to have a sobering effect on most people who are inclined to abuse their authority.£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000

Follow the instructions above. What has been said still stands.0 -
All good advice.
Bear in mind that the bailiffs may not look like they do on television. The most effective bailiffs I have had dealings with were smartly dressed young women.
I did warn earlier that you were likely to get a visit0
