Went to Cheshire Oaks. Was having a word with one of the Sales Assistants. She said, she had never seen this item before, must be new. I commented, I had never seen it in the high street Gap Stores. Her reply knocked me for six, she said "some items here are made only for the outlet stores, you won't get them on the high street".
Apparently that also applies to some Marks and Spencer items aswell.
On another note, if you go to the Gap Store in York, they sell items from Banana Republic and Old Navy, which are very large chains, owned by Gap, in the USA. York and Livingston Gap Outlets are the only ones to do so.
Another "good" outlet is Gretna Green Outlet, Marks and Spencer, Ralph Lauren, small but good bargains.
I agree with the poster above about paying to park at these Outlets. The worst is the outlet in Ashford, Kent.0 -
BTW, if you go to Chechire Oaks, go to customer services and they have voucher booklets for discounts in loads of shops.
You have to be members for certain organisations like army, caravan club etc etc (long list) but worth a check!

Hi shoppers - I live just 10 minutes from Cheshire Oaks, it's popular for a day out, but I can never find a 'bargain' are they're usually in sizes 8 and 10 - Really must start that diet soon ! Are there any other outlets in the North that are worth a visit ?0

I went to the Galleria in 2000 and thought it was great:)henhog wrote:I live near the Hatfield Galleria and think it's wonderful! My fave is the Marks and Spencer outlet - £18 coat for little one at £2, all underwear a fraction of the price etc, school uniform dead cheap and it is all stuff I have seen in the store. Other good ones are the cheap toy shop and the Jane Shilton shop. TX Max is brilliant if you have the time and can be bothered you can get bargains. I have seen that TOG shop somewhere at full price when on holiday - the lakedistrict maybe? I just think it's funny that they think they are quite trendy but to millions of us Radio 2 fans TOG means Terry's Old Girls/ geezers!

Does anyone have directions to the Cheshire Oaks village
I am near the Livingston one and 100 mile driving distance to the Gretna one
I wonder how they compare?An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

I have been to all three! Sad but true as I used to travel a lot for work.
Gretna was very poor, only bothered stopping the once -this was about four years ago.
Livingston is great and benefits from mostly being indoors, having said that 3 years since i have been.
Cheshire Oaks is near Ellesmere Port and from memory is a lot bigger. Shops are round a couple of large carparks. Worth a detour but not the long drive. The stock in the duplicated shops is very similar though.
The other one that might be useful for you would be on the M62 just after Leeds. Big place in a similar style. I am sure someone who is better than me at locations can tell you where it is.
My vote for worst ones go to Gretna and Spalding. Best are Ellesmere Port and Livingston but even they can be a bit patchy.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
