Mintvine has started taking my earnings

Mintvine was one of my favourite survey sites as I always had loads of surveys and I'd cashed out loads of times in the last year.

I logged in last night as I had reached $10 so I requested my payment and that took my balance down to about 707 points. I logged in again this morning to see if there were any surveys available and noticed my balance had gone down to 585. Thinking a few surveys might have been rejected, I checked my account but none had been rejected.

I emailed their customer support and left a message on their facebook account and logged in this afternoon only to notice my balance has now gone down to 508 points!!!

That's $2 it's dropped since last night with no explanation!

Has this ever happened to anyone else? I just hope they reply to my email as most sites don't.

You mentioned the same for Inbox Pounds previously. Are you sure you don't get confused with your earnings? I haven't gotten such an issue with Mintvine nor heard anyone has.
    ally.
  • The problem with inboxpounds was when they cancelled my account but that was sorted out in the end. I don't remember writing anything about my balance being different though.

No I definitely haven't got my earnings mixed up with Mintvine as I remembered last night that it definitely began with a 7 as I thought I'm only just short of 300 points away from a payout and this morning when my balance was at 585 points I wrote it down in case it went down again
  • It was xBethany who complained of their balance reducing on Inbox Pounds, I have never heard of that or Mintvine reducing the balance.

I keep a daily tally on my balances with all companies, and with Mintvine I make a list of surveys pending, as I used to do with Toluna.

Mintvine are pretty good, they pay out at $10 to PayPal within 2 days and their surveys are worth more than a lot of other places which more than makes up for the currency conversion.:)

Could it be a survey that for some reason you might not have answered as expected? I think that can happen sometimes on survey sites..The points get awarded and then they check the actual responses and find maybe the demographics were not right but somehow the survey got to the end anyway.
  • Thanks for your replies.

I've been with Mintvine for around 10 months now so I do know they are a very good company. I've reached payout loads of times but they have always paid me about a week later not 2 days as Mollydolly mentioned above.

I wondered that too Culpepper but wouldn't it have marked a survey as rejected? I have no surveys in the rejected column.

It is all very bizarre as this is the only website my earnings have decreased on and looking through Google, no one else has mentioned the same problem. I'm hoping it's just a glitch or I'm going very mad!

I got paid within 2 days too (to my Paypal account). I think there are other options for payout. It might be different for them.

The best thing you can do hotchoccolatte to wait their reply then!

  • I got a reply from them today. I'm pleased to see I'm not going mad, lol.

Their reply was (and might help others who have experienced the same):

We had an issue with our referral system and some were being paid twice.
Any points that were pending and duplicate were removed from the members’ history.

So after that, they put 100 points in my account for the inconvenience. I log in today and my account is now at MINUS 332 points.

So before, it went down almost $2 from 700 odd points to 500 odd points. They said it was due to referral bonuses gone wrong (I only have 2 active referrals!) so they put 100 points in my account for the inconvenience which took it back up to 600 points.
Now today it's minus 332 points which means they've decreased my points by about 1300 points! That's a lot of points - $13 worth of points in total! There's something fishy going on here!

What I don't understand is why no one else is reporting the same. Time to email them and close my account I thhink
  • My mintvine balancce has been fine - I don't have referrals though.

I know a fair few other people on there who have also had no issues; it seems to be referral related, as they stated in their reply to you.
  • I wish I didn't have any referrals now as they are more trouble than they're worth on there! Odd how I've been on there for all these months but it's only this month where things have gone wrong. My refs haven't earnt me anywhere in the region of the points they have deducted. I hope they sort it out soon!
