MBNA application referred because of address mismatch- anyone else?

in Credit cards
Hi,
I recently applied for an MBNA card- their eligibility checker said I had a good chance for being accepted so I was quite excited.
Unfortunately, once I completed it said they couldn't give me an instant decision but would be in touch. I phoned up and the lady said their system had issues with address formats and so it would be updated/managed manually instead.
Has anyone else had a similar problem with them? She said they'd try and get back to me on Friday (I applied yesterday morning) or Monday.
I then asked whether this meant they'd been unable to pull my credit report details, she said yes but I've logged into my CreditExpert account and it shows Friday's search, so today I'm a little disheartened that it's going to be bad news on Monday. Was really hoping to take advantage of the 0% offer!
Anyone else had similar happen to them? (and hopefully with a good outcome

They can be very fussy about address formats. When I applied for a TSB current account they (face to face interview) wouldn't take one of my proofs of address because it didn't match what I was using for proof of identity. One said "2 xxxxx House" the other said "Flat 2 xxxxx House".
They knew it was ok but knew the computer wouldn't accept it, and were unable to do anything about it.
I had to find something else that matched.
(I've always used slight variations over the years because I like to see who is passing on my details.)0 -
I applied just over a week ago and I live in a flat so have previously had address verification issues with other people.
I am already an MBNA customer though, but was still referred. I didn't hear anything from them for about a week, and then a new PIN number came yesterday and the card followed today.
So you may be alright!0 -
I called this morning and they said they were still working on it and would try to call me this afternoon.I've always used slight variations over the years because I like to see who is passing on my details

To update (and in case anyone searches for this later)- the application was accepted yesterday evening but it took from Friday morning until Monday evening for the application to bubble through their systems.
They didn't really say what the issue was, just that their system had problems with address formatting- the lady I spoke to said they'd had a few problems over the weekend so maybe this was a specific issue.
Fortunately the lady at the call centre was brilliant at following it up and all should be going ahead fine.0
