i have built a small kitchen extension and now need it wired i have had a quote of £1450 the work involved is running cooker, hob and hood points back to consumer unit .adding 8 down lights to the kitchen, 3 double sockets spurs to all appliances an outside flood light and a outside socket also in the old kitchen i need 3 double sockets all wiring is going to be run back to a new consumer unit and a test certificate at the completion of the job and also all sockets are to be polished chrome as is the down lights all wiring runs in the direction of the joist so there would be no need to lift floor boards also i am going to take down my old kitchen ceiling so no need to cut any holes in the ceilings either can anyone tell me if this is a fair quote

Not enough info. location, routing, lengths, surface or flush , capping number of spurs switched/ fused, light switching 1/2 way etc. Are they putting in new CU? , Cable may run joist direction light positioning wouldn't necessarily ? polished chrome your forever cleaning them? (satin nickel , brushed chrome etc are less work ), down lights, sockets, spurs type make etc can range from £5 –£100 each
At a guess without info If there changing CU then competitive price if not average0
