Facetime - Android Alternatives

i have an android smartphone but would like to use a facetime alternative while i am away on holiday next month to keep in touch with family

anyone used any on android , i generally use skype for voice calls , it will ideally be myself on a phone but family will be using the home PC

any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated

Use Facebook Messenger, it has video chat now.

If you use Skype for voice calls, why not use it for video calls as well?

thanks for the replies , probably skype would be my best option as i usually get a months subscription or PAYG while i am away

You shouldn't need to pay for Skype if you are using it over the internet.

You don't need to pay for Skype to Skype calls, but you do for Skype calls to landlines or mobile telephone numbers.

the skype subscription i have is to ring landlines although i usually get a free 30 day trial by making a new account up , i am having a play around with installing it on my parents home PC and on my mobile and trying before i leave in 3 weeks , need something simple there end more than anything
