First, I should warn you that I am not technologically savvy at all, so do excuse me if I don't give all the necessary information straight off!
I have a Samsung Chromebook. Yesterday I noticed that under the wi-fi bit, the bit where it gives details of your connection it said "This network is shared with other users", though above that it also says "Access to this network is protected". I'm a bit concerned about that 'shared with other users' bit! Can anyone tell me what this means? I am the sole occupant here and I'm the only one who uses this internet connection.
I'd be most grateful for any info on this.
Thanks in advance.

I'm wondering if it simply means other users that I allow to use my computer? Just a thought.0

You do have your wifi network secured? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Yes, Elsien, it is a secure network.0

It's nothing to worry about it means you are sharing the network access with any other users on that chromebook for example the guest account if you want to let someone use your chromebook for internet access. Other users will have access but they won't be able to see the password.
You can disable it if you want go into settings , preferred networks and click on the cross next to you network name. When you setup your connection again below the box that you enter your password there a box to share with other users make sure that isn't ticked.0 -
Thank you, Lumstorm. Yes, that was the thought I had after I'd posted my question. That's ok then - no need for me to get paranoid that people are hacking into my router, or whatever it is that these people do :rotfl:
As no-one else uses my Chomebook, I think all is safe....until my next paranoia episode0
